This project focuses on a fictional visit to my solo exhibition at the Israel Museum. It documents an exhibition of nude paintings, guided by curator Galia Bar Or. The paintings and photographs featured in the exhibition are my own works.

 

The personal emotional aspect reflects a melancholic moment in a career nearing its end, as old age approaches. It's that realization that what hasn't happened yet, likely never will. However, I don't want to dwell on sadness. To uplift and console myself, I use virtual reality to create an exhibition out of nothing. To further enhance this joy and avoid falling into the trap of over-seriousness, I infuse a mockumentary dimension, expressed through Galia Bar Or's voiceover guidance.

The second aspect addresses today's visual landscape, where everything is photographed and documented. With fake news headlines alongside genuine ones, and filters on TikTok allowing us to transform into any desired persona, the question arises: how do we discern truth from fiction? Perhaps what truly matters isn't the truth itself, but rather the story? The use of the Israel Museum logo and photographs from within the museum's spaces raises the question: is this impersonation? And Galia Bar Or, genuinely guiding the exhibition and referencing my paintings – is this real or an imposture?
